Interesting that so many punters great and small have given up on Telstra, even before results released. It could have been a fantastic company, what with all its inherited advantages and superior coverage. I suspect a draggy culture from the "old days" as state-owned Telecom meant a seepage of strength to the point where competition has at the very least caught up. I do remember the stir caused by colourful, straight-talking Mexican-American Sol Trujillo, who was hired to bring Telstra into the real world in 2005, when it later joined the stock market and became a mum and dad favourite. Been no one like that maverick gunslinger since, and it shows.
