Whenever I feel the need to call Telstra to get something done, this feeling of dread comes over me. Yesterday, I phoned to have a service cancelled off my bill. Got recorded interactive messaging that directed me to a link sent to my mobile. That initiated the messenger/chat process. Yes, whoever is on the other end obviously is multi-tasking, handling a number of these in parallel as the response can be slow. After about 20min I finally succeeded in getting done what I needed - I'll know for sure when I get my next bill.
Still, I would prefer that than having to go into my local Telstra store. Last time I did that it took 3 visits to get anything done. Interestingly on the 2nd visit after being told to sit and wait, a person opposite me sat, unfolded a napkin with a muffin and coffee. He looked up at me and said, "I know I'm going to be here for a few hours so I have come prepared, may as well settle in for the morning!"
