    Yep. That was then. This is now. Entry fees are pretty much non-existent these days in managed funds. You will just have a buy spread on entry. Pretty much the only exception is property syndicates.

    And yes, a managed fund does not give you the same control over issues like tax management. But that's the trade off between outsourcing management and trading shares yourself.
