I agree in principle with your assessment, and am happy to stay invested in ARU through to production. Naturally I will endeavour to reduce the cost of holding by some trading at the most obvious points.

In big picture terms, given the increasing pressure oil supplies will come under, plus the global warming problem (whether wholly caused or not by humans we still need to drastically reduce our output of warming gases) pushing vehicles in the hybrid direction, the strategic (ie rare) nature of ARU's REE resource, the diversity and value of the by-products, the fairly tight share register and low number of shares issued, ARU has a lot of positives. The negatives are elimination of production, capex and sales risks, as well as REE & by-product prices going forward. I have much belief in the quality and ability of management, who look very professional in their performance to date.

With ARU I believe you need to have at least a five year time frame to allow several re-ratings to occur at the milestone events, and its full value as a quality producer to be realised. REE's are still to become a market darling niche although some newsletters have been revving up their subscribers over the last year on this sector.

I have a suspicion that if the $USD does speed up its weakening trend over the next couple of years, coupled with increasing inflation (make that stagflation) and with likely poor US share performance, there will be some migration of investor funds to the ASX including resource stocks. However I will be keeping a sharp look-out for the mother of all panics later this year...............although last week was quite impressive that can't be the last of it. Surely there will be another brutal leg downwards in a few weeks.
