I'm not sure if it will be a winner or not Dejavoo.

The RCY road is not very long, but yes, it does cut underneath a very conjested part of the city. I think it will take some serious traffic during peak, but be fairly slow at other times. My wife travels the route Mon to Fri, but not in peak times, and she is adament she won't be paying the toll. From what I recall, it isn't going to be cheap...($4 each way??)

Brisbane also has a number of other toll roads being built, both competing with and complementary to the RCY project, such as Brisconnect's Airport Link (complementary),the Gateway Bridge (semi-competing), and the Hale Street Bridge (also semi-competing). Gateway Bridge is being duplicated at the moment, and the Hale Street Bridge is under construction.

Brisconnect's project will sort of feed into RCY's Clem 7 tunnel at Bowen Hills. Problem is both companies want to collect a toll, so a trip from, say, the airport to Annerley could be rather expensive.

Just my take on things. Looking forward to giving the tunnel a try when it opens next year.
