I have seen that very depressing chart before. I started investing in 1987 and it took me nearly 10 years to recoup initial investment.
Also the last 5 years has shown the Australian markets seriously falling behind other markets if you do a comparison. Poor government policy? Poor company performance? Other markets investing whereas we aren't?.....We are being left behind sadly and unless we have awesome policy reformation from Canberra and powerful incentives for domiciled businesses it may well continue as become servile to others.
