Yes, For carbon free base load at large scale to displace coal fire + carbon price, it is the option a number of countries are going to. Land use is a big consideration but solar and battery is technically far cheaper. Netherlands is a very small land mass. they are also already heavily reliant on wind. In reality most countries are talking multiple technology solution approaches. Nuclear, solar, wind, H2, hydro, battery storage etc. etc. they will all be needed to some degree.

Netherlands current electricity source is heavy on fossil:
    ELECTRIC consumption 108,772,560
    ELECTRIC GENERATION 109,291,560
    Nuclear 3,750,000 3%
    Renewables 16,642,000 15%
    Hydroelectricity 100,000 0%
    Non-Hydroelectric Renewables 16,542,000 15%
    Geothermal 0 0.00%
    Wind 8,170,000 7.48%
Solar, Tide, Wave, Fuel Cell 1,760,000 1.61%
    Tide and Wave 200,000 0.18%
    Solar 1,560,000 1.43%
    Biomass and Waste 6,612,000 6.05%
    Fossil Fuels 88,899,560 81.34%

either way lots of commodity winners in the change.
