“Wind energy is quite mature now,” Dr Connor said. “A dozen companies would be able to sell you a turbine and guarantee that it works. But wave energy is far less mature commercially and technologically.”

"The process begins with a small prototype (insert Ceto 6 here) tested in a wave tank like that at Plymouth University. From there the device goes to a “nursery” site, like FaBTest in the sheltered waters of Falmouth Bay. Once it has proved itself there it is transferred to the harsher environment of Wave Hub off the coast at Hayle in West Cornwall."
