Based on a junior I hold who have just received permits for a 2000tpa plant, we are at least 24 mths away from the same stage. Which means at least 3 yrs for any meaningful production.
The board seems to lack direction. They have the funds to progress.
Build the ponds, get the evap process going and submit docs for the necessary permits.
Hanging out for direct extraction techniques to be proven at a commercial scale could take years, if ever.
Just get on with it, you can always transition to other methods at a later date.
