Instead of babbling away with meaningless nonsense, why don't you save your energy for sticking it to the board of TLS because that and the pugnacious middle-management, is where all of Telstra's problems lie. Other companies who don't even enjoy the monopolistic benefits that Telstra have, can perform much better.

It wasn't the NBN that caused the latest drop in TLS share price. It was because more Telstra mobile phone customers left and went to Optus. This is documented fact.

I have first hand experience at being at the receiving end of Telstra's contempt for their customers. they almost sent my company broke in 2001.

Let's look for a moment at company culture. If you take the following group of companies, what do they have in common:

    Microsoft, News Limited, eBay, Telstra?

They all treat their customers like idots... Suckers to be milked for all they have. There is no consideration for ethics or a fair go.

Now take another group: Google, Apple Computer (when Steve Jobs is in charge) and Adobe Software. All of these companies believe in treating their customers with respect and playing in a reasonably fair manner.

Telstra relies on its advantages with its monopoly on the copper network and the ground ducts through which they run. And they still can't run at a decent profit! If you can't run a company successfully in such a position of strength, then you will NEVER be able to do so on a level playing field.

In the end, it is EVERY Australian who loses, but especially the long-suffering TLS shareholders.

If you treat your customers with contempt, you will soon lose them. The NBN wouldn't even be considered if Telstra was running its business properly because it would have implemented such an infrastructure years ago and provided it to their retail customers as well as their wholesale customers at a price where everybody could win.

But they didn't. They sat on their miserable copper monopoly and guarded it like a mongrel dog. When Optus wanted to run cable through the ducts, Telstra wouldn't let them. Consequently we ended up with ugly cables up on the power poles.

You can't run a company like this and expect your customers to like you. Google's, Apple's and Adobe's customers love them. They play fair and win respect. This is an enlightened way to do business. Mean and pugnacious is OUT. Considerate, fair and socially aware is IN.

What was that saying? "Do unto others..."
