They are retiring 1300 staff or so from memory. Forming a new base from a slightly smaller tighter company. Price wars don't last forever, Telstra hasn't really been growing for years has it?
Also I would much rather TLS pay dividends than buy into an overseas market in an attempt to grow. My guess would be cloud computing tech space acquisitions. DTL, Zero, online adds like TME. Only mid/ small caps should be bought.
