Not real sure when the next announcement is due but on the 29/5 /08 MEC Resources commenced the drilling rig tender process for offshore Sydney Basin. Hoping for exciting announcement when it comes.

PEP 11 offshore Sydney Basin – Jackup Rig Tenders
Bounty Oil & Gas N.L. (“Bounty”) is pleased to announce that MEC Resources Limited (ASX: MMR) has
commenced the drilling rig tender process for the PEP 11 project offshore Sydney Basin.
MEC Resources has through its group companies, Advent Energy Pty Limited (“Advent”) and Asset
Energy Pty Ltd:
• Completed well design work to undertake a drill test of the Fish Prospect in PEP 11, and
• Formally invited drilling rig suppliers to tender for the provision of a jackup drilling rig for that drill
test.
MEC Resources/Advent believes that the Fish prospect has significant prospective recoverable gas
resources and intends to capitalise on current market conditions to cost effectively progress its
exploration objectives.
Drilling rig rates have fallen substantially in recent months and a number of potentially suitable rigs are
becoming available in the Australasian region.
Commenting on PEP 11 progress, Bounty’s CEO, Mr. Philip Kelso said:
“Bounty is very pleased with progress by MEC Resources towards a first test of the major structures in
the offshore Sydney Basin which appear to be generating gas. The rig market has pulled the expense of a
test down significantly.
