I was under the impression that whenever there is gas there is oil since the gas is a result of decay of the oil Now as far as we know the Ooraminna 1 was a wildcat strike in 1963 which probably means they were poking about for oil at the time and only struck gas.
As Ooraminna2 is about 100km from producing oil fields and in all probability associated to the same age of rocks then why hasnt there been much made of Ooraminna2 as a possible oil source.
VERY little is actually known of this area - perhaps somebody out there may know the closeset other wells drilled.
Obviously Ooraminna2 will be a treasure trove of information AND if even a interesting oil show appears guess we can write our own tickets. BUT at least for now lets wait just a little bit longer for now before we get too excited. Just a few days to spud news. Maybe a JH surprise this weekend. Good luck long term holder again.
