it was pretty shrill back in early 2000's when we had the millennium drought...I can tell you!
get used to it, you're not going to get decent rain again, just patchy storms...I even had local people ( not extremists either, well read ) suggest cropping was no longer viable in our area, which is not marginal, and not very far west at all!!
