At the risk of being stomped on like last time I posted some negative sentiment on this thread,there is an annoying feature of these machines.Unlike institutional ATMs,if you are unaware of your exact balance and have say $201 available and request $200 it will not dispense the amount,because the fee associated with using the machine cannot be levied on the amount immediately.Unfortunately the transfer of $200 has been requested from your account,so if you then request a lesser amount say $150,there will be insufficient funds available as your $200 dollars is now stuck in limbo,withdrawn from your account with nowhere to go.If this happens on a Friday night,you are without cash until you can sort it out with the bank on Monday.You will be charged the fee at a later date even though the transaction was not completed. One piece of advice when using non bank ATMs,always keep your reciept.I believe institional ATMs dont levy the fee until later to avoid this problem.I am wondering if this has changed under the new legislation.If the fees for weekends and public holidays mooted by some are implemented,this problem will only increase.Never mind...Diamond Rings for all.
