To put it simply. Auz is a little behind in some aspects than lets say CLQ. However in the near term they are working to better define there resource asset in conjunction with establishing MOUs etc for supply of the different minerals they have in their portfolio. Within the context of this process rests the prospect of unrealised value to the share holder. Auz has previously announced that it intends to use the scanadium as a sweetener to secure agreements for the sale of its other minerals i.e cobalt and nickel. I believe they have taken this approach for the reasons you have stated. All IMHO.
