The world has been saying that about the Congo for the last 20 to 30 years but production of both Cu and Co continues to occur and increase. At the end of the day it is about price and availability. Given the amount of Co and Cu being predicted to be needed going forward the DRC will always be a major supplier of both metals.
Any Co, Ni or Sc produced from laterite projects will always be at the more expensive end of production costs, it is the the nature of processing these ore types.
