its almost unbelievable that the oz or US gov didnt step in earlier to try and deflect china diplomatic attempts with solomons earlier. looks like its too late. the local SI gov is clearly swayed by cash and development china can bring into their country. couldve been stopped if oz presented better potential.
judging by the article there are mixed feelings about thecountries dealings with china. doubt it will have any short term impact or flow through to AVQ though. just waiting for that 2yr deadline....
