If they take it down after filling the gap, you no longer have LYC's 98% gap fill rate on the side of any long trades. Now, you only have the gap below at 90c to fill. Not saying this will fill anytime soon, but it's there. Apart from being a self-fulfilling prophecy, the reason gaps fill is that no-one has recently been trapped in the gap price range, so not much to get in the way of a move through the gap.
