I’m struggling to connect your reference with the idea that the communists are coming for everyone. Sounds more like the capitalists are planning to eliminate everyone that is unnecessary for production or slavery as they can now be replaced by robots or AI. He who has the most robots wins under that scenario.
as the desire to “win” (whatever that actually means) widens the wealth gap ordinary people become increasingly irrelevant and thus dispensable.
continuing the scenario however ordinary people sense that the capitalists couldn’t care about them as they become a drain on resources rather than useful means of production. The odd virus here or war there. Homelessness and a bit of poverty thrown in along with hunger. That should hasten depopulation
but better still make sure that the unsuspecting population of dispensable minions think that this is all a communist plot. That way they’ll hang around to be picked off while the wealth is built and never know that they aren’t part of the capitalist wealth creation plan.
seeing everything as being about capitalism vs communism isn’t really that useful. It blinds one. Control and power come in many forms.
