Slats you should not be referring to Thomson's lie because it remains to be proven that he lied. He may have but you can not say that he did until there is proof.
There well may have been another person or persons at the brothel whom he does not want to name because the bill paid with the HSU card is too big to be for just one person. In fact I think it would have covered several people.
