I was making the point that government action can often get a big beat-up when amongst some inevitable waste a good outcome can be achieved. You obviously understand very little about macroeconomics as you would have been paying unemployment benefits instead of tradespeople if the stimulus hadn't of been rolled out in a hasty (but necessarily so) way. But don't ask me or over 50 leading economists including nobel laureate stiglitz. You think "Your" money was wasted but in reality it was put to excellent use in avoiding the waste of high unemployment and dislocation that occurs in financial crises. And i am not even a labor supporter! My point was that government support in the form that Brumby has made in Victoria by ordering on behalf of the Dept of housing is one way to get CFU up and running and with commercial acceptance in the marketplace. If i were the government i would be installing bluegens in government offices around the country and save on emmissions and power bills. But with such reflex "dont waste MY money" attitudes from people who understand nothing about macroeconomics or government-supported industry then i guess we will not get very far in the political debate in this country.
