    "timster74 Hi matey,"

(WHO'S MATEY) i notice this is your first post whats the agenda?????????

"I would appreciate all the advice you are able to provide!"

NEVER TAKE ADVICE FROM ANY HC POST OR POSTER, USUALLY YOU HAVE MORE KNOWLEDGE THEN THEM.
Everyone needs to develop their own strategy.
As for opinions happy to share, as like human waste holes everyone has one,

-I only look for long positions (as I believe the long term view is a bull market).

You have lost half your money making potential in one hit if you only go long. (never believe your own views 100% are you smarter than the market??? )
    LT CFDS now thats funny

    - I plan to hold positions between 2 weeks & 4 months. - Typically I like to stick with top 50 stocks (or top 100).

Personally i have read many books about cfds, trading etc & understand the theory but i dont have the balls, capital or stupidity to do cfds LT especially in this market,
check out gaps down on your favourite blue chips, that stuff scares me, HENCE GSL

    - Look for high % paying div stocks and open a position approx 2-3 months prior to a div.

The Div strategy i use it but will add following the biggest yield your assuming the same div will be paid, its not that simple you have
to refer FA, saying 2-3 months out is simplistic again your time frames are outside mine but if you have had luck good on ya.

-At the moment holding Westfield - planning to offload within a month or two after the div.

Hate property stocks & property in general have nothing to add will note you were probably stopped out today with the gap down 2-3 month strategy?????????? LOL (lots of losses)

CFDS ARE AN EVIL BEAST,sharing & critiquing should be encouraged, developing & testing your own strategies is the key.
