Not really, When it goes ex div the SP drops approximately the amount of the DIV + Franking. So your returns are predominately dictated by the performance of the underlying portfolio net of fees and the narrowing or widening of the discount.
Buying here at big premium means you need others to buy at an even bigger premium in the future to benefit from the later.
