The performance of WMI (in this case) is reflected in the return it provides to investors through dividends and, eventually, the price investors get when they sell. NTA is the sum of the value of all the assets it holds and nothing more, you do not live on that, but you do live on dividends. LIC's will usually be at a discount or premium to the value of their assets. When the dividend yield is regularly higher than you can get elsewhere it is very common for the price an LIC to be at a premium to its underlying assets per share.
