    I think the real comment that needs to be made is do you subscribe to the Sept/Oct bull; short pullback and then onward and upward scenario that has played out over the last few years?

    Empirically, you have good reason to believe, but I'm not so sure!

    As I've written often, the toxicity of this credit crunch is an absolutely unique experience and the markets are reflecting that. All the permabulls think Sept will be easy pickings because they were before. My contrarian instinct tells me...NOT THIS YEAR! Look what happened to "Sell in May; go away"....the timing is all over the place.

    Be very wary.
