Good morning RMS100.
Not fully sure how to answer your questions but I will try.
First the capital return to keep things a little more simple I left that out. Ht1 and I started the comparing of OZL and pna as a little bit of fun and also because strange enough they did track each so close for a good number of years. price wise before consolidation it was a 2 to 1 ratio, then after it because 4 to 1. HT1 after that to allow for divvies cash back etc came up with.
"Just recapping - ozl and pna with all things being equal trade on a 4 to 1 ratio have done for ages, now we must take into account that ozl pays a divvy etc where pna does not now. "If the ratio gets closer to 4, it says that PNA is losing relative value. If the ratio goes closer to 3, it says PNA is gaining relative value"
As for the class actions. I received money as well but really have put that well behind me at the end of the day it was a pittance for what ozl really lost us, so not even worth a second thought.
In true conscience.
My idea of investing is that the company I choose to invest with especially if I was to pick mining companies like ozl and pna knows how to put my capital to work in a much better way than i could on my own - and the only real way i can otherwise invest is putting it in a bank
I want CAPITAL (in capital letters) GROWTH!!!!!!! if i can also pick up dividends at the same time good and well
and those dividends had better be fully franked otherwise i would expect a good company to be able to put that dividend money to better use than i could.
I know there some like EL my sparing partner that look at it from a different angle at times. I hope I reading him right here what he is saying is that you buy a share miming share like ozl say for $15 and then the company slowly drip feeds that same $15 back to you over a protracted period of time in the form of dividends and capital return until it has been completely exhausted in lockstep with exhaustion of the mine. To me I'm sorry but it seems to neglect the idea that you should be getting an additional rate of return on the upfront $10 capital investment. So I would find it extremely difficult and just couldn't buy a stock like ozl to see it run into the ground and striped of capital. But fully get that people should buy what ever they want for the reasons they want with there money.
When its all said and done. This is a talk back forum respectfully we trade info and our thoughts from time to time. Some things we agree on, some not so much and hopefully give avid reasons why. Not force them onto people.
Have a great week every one.
