..... I found Yahoo's report this morning interesting in regards to the 'Caribbean'.
In part, it said .....
11:49AM Treasuries Sliding Back Post-Data : The market has slid quietly off the highs, taking the curve steeper, after a decent run-up following worse-than-expected retail sales numbers, and, importantly the foreign holdings report. The market looked to the data, a $91.5B increase in Jan holdings, as a bond positive, although the rally was stymied by the fact that the largest jump in holdings came out of the Caribbean banking centers ......... .
I've come to understand that the Fed and the US Treasury are now using 'Caribbean banks'. Is America now buying its own IOU's, just to keep up the pretence of economic soundness?
