Then two weeks leave for most staff, back at work on 6th Jan.
So, no, not in "shutdown mode".
And I'll give you another tip: they will have had to pay for their own Christmas Party, and won't be allowed to accept invites from any in Industry because of probity.
People in these departments are miserable for a reason.
