So , I emailed a question to the company months ago and am still awaiting a reply . The question being: Where’s the water coming from ?

To transport 50Million tonnes per annum as a slurry down a pipe takes a lot of water . How much ? Well 50,000,000 tonnes is 50Billion kilos of sand. Assuming that you’d need 5 litres / kilo to suspend the sand adequately for it to be liquid enough to transport efficiently, then you’re looking at 250 Billion litres of water per annum from the perilously fragile WA aquifers.

And then you’ve got processing requirements etc.

Thats a lot of water each year , don’t you think ?
