Chiba, You explanation is clear. The issue with Covid is that the period between infection and becoming infectious to others is very short. Therefore the patient may catch it and transmit it before the immune system cuts in to prevent symptoms. I expect the order of this may vary between strains and individuals. It seems that sometimes children’s immune system enables them to be infectious but not suffer symptoms. Some children’s systems react fast enough to kill the infection before the child starts to transmit. bacci

I could be wrong, but that's my logical conclusion.
