From all of this discussion it sounds like controlling 1024 tiny speakers able to pulse at 200khz to reconstruct sound is a new science that will require some experimentation to optimise. Although AP have no doubt gone a fair way down this path there will likely be more to do once the final chips are ready.
Assuming that AP provide a default driver to control this, i wonder whether consumer electronics manufacturers will also have the ability to directly control the pixels. That would allow further room for innovation and differentiation particularly for multi chip configurations.
I think that there is great potential here to not only revolutionise the speaker market but also the music industry overall as this could open up new ideas such as dedicating particular chips to particular instruments and eventually producing a more realistic live band or orchestra experience.
