Just 1 day before Whispir’s IPO launch, USA rival EverBirdge announced they have won the bid for the Australia Emergency Alert – the National public alert warning system across all states.

Everbdige is listed as Whispir's No.1 competitor on owler https://www.owler.com/company/whispir

Everbidge has been able to come out on top, despite having near to no presence in Australia and against competitors who are incumbents in many local, state and federal government departments.

Whispir states much of its revenue comes from long-term 1-3 year contracts.
With Everbidge now establishing a new Australia office https://www.zdnet.com/article/us-based-everbridge-scores-aussie-emergency-alert-deal and showcasing their prize contract, local messaging services would be feeling anxious about their previous home-turf advantage.

Whispir has had been working to establish a presence in the USA
