Then the Australian "demographic and rural mentality" had better start making cars (and petrolium) again because there will come a point in time that either ICE cars won't be manufactured any longer, or lack of scale will make them so expensive that only the die hard will persist. (which I agree there will be plenty of aussie die hards). But the rest of the world will have moved on to electrification backed by baselode nuclear. Our automotive industry is already being labelled as third world class by the Europeans. It will become more and more difficult to deny as the aging fleet of patched up ICE cars, powered on back yard bio fuel, is all that is found anywhere other than the eastern seaboard.
