IVG holds a prospective set of tenements on South Australia's Limestone coast for rare-earth elements, which they label the White Hill package. For any newcomers.- IVG (previously DLM) was a shell company controlled by Taylor Collison and people behind Apollo group (IPX and PLL founders Dominic Allen and Taso Arima were both directors, and other names like Ian Middlemas large shareholders). They brought in this acquisition were the focus is on a significant graphite prospect in Tanzania (see other threads for more details, initial results appear very encouraging and IMO already the valuation doesn't reflect this potential, relative to peers). Some pretty decent names are behind the vend (and coming into the current management) - Simon Taylor, Andrew Boyd, Andrew Lawson. I'll leave their backgrounds for other people to research more on them.
At the same time they included a set of rare-earths elements packages on the limestone coast in South Australia that they have stayed fairly quiet on - and seemed a bit odd to be including in as part of the vend (I was quite sceptical myself as it didn't seem to make sense to be throwing a secondary set of REE land as part of a graphite project vend). But, after all the attention over the last few days on the limestone coast area in South Australia, I did my own reading and now understand better what they see in the land, and why these guys had snapped this land package and snuck it into the vend here.
The White Hill package is very close to AR3's land - in Gambier Coastal Plain which is in the immediate AR3 Koppamurra neighbourhood (ChatGPT estimated about 50km midpoint away from Koppamurra). Compare that to KLR which is further north in the Murray Mallee. Both KLR and IVG are basically running their whole targeting off the AR3 model - in fact in the Government report on EL6787 (one of the IVG White Hill tenements) explicitly references Koppamurra as the analogue just to the east - the same stratigraphic framework over the Gambier Limestone. There was some old cores that IVG run pXRF on and showed a 819ppm interval (no lab results to validate this yet). KLR does have validated lab assays and have a 1m 356ppm intercept. The IVG reading is from a depth of 10.32m - 14.36m - continuing on the less than 20m depths that makes the AR3 (and KLR prospect) so attractive for strip; and the right elements are showing up in the pXRF. It's quite interesting reading on the history of the area, where some modelling off how the Chinese had successfully mined and extracted REE drew geological interest in the area (Limestone Coast & Loxton–Parilla Sands) back around 2016, which led to AR3's exploration success - and a quick land grab in the area from players like the vendors to IVG (who are now in management and vended for equity, not for cash). I would recommend going through the company's prospectus for their interpretation of the old cores/land area, and probing your chosen AI helper for the history of the area.
It's still very early days, and of course it's still a gamble on the drill/proving out continuity (and validating their assumptions in the lab, and of course the scary metallurgy unknown of REE projects); but the land seems to have a lot of the hallmarks of the well proven AR3 Koppamurra system (explicitly referenced by the government themselves), and on face value from what I read, I would personally rather this package than others in the area that have had some quite exceptional price action this week. I wonder how IVG are planning to approach the exploration and targeting on the land package - seems like it would be as good a time as any for the company to be moving aggressively here, given the current market interest. I would welcome anyone with better knowledge of the area or just general rare earths projects to give some feedback on how they interpret this one.
