Let’s take teachers for example

should they respect the kids as much as the kids respect them… do you really believe it should be equal?

They should respect each other as people but the child needs to respect the teacher for their role to operate… they need to be respected for the role they hold

Teachers have a massive impact on our lives and communities, and play a critical role in shaping our shared future. They deserve our respect, trust and to feel safe at work. Monash researchers have conducted a national study of 5,000 teachers. This builds on ongoing research from 2019 and offers insights into better ways to support and retain teachers.

The results are a wake up call for all of us. They highlight the need for personal action and systemic change.

This includes:

• More respect for teachers and the profession
• Tackling teacher workload and administrative burden
• Creating safe work environments
• Including teachers’ voices in policy recommendations
