while i agree the price won't effect the SP immediately (short of a boom) there should be consideration as soon as december that the % increase/decreas of oil price will represent a %increase/decrease in our margins. this will ultimately be reflected in the balance sheets and then determine the appropriate price discovery for the SP. that and we are currently profitable at 50-60USD a barrel, and we now know that it won't go lower, so its a derisking event in my eyes and so imo its all related.
that said, we do have some churn to get through as you point out. I am however of the opinion that the quarterly on jan 29th (our reporting date) will represent a pivotal moment in the companies re-rate and i expect to see some positive movement before then as the stats will be largely known and clever cookies will do the math ahead of time.
So the plan..... buying window is now til X-mas.
