The way i see it:
BB - good to reduce our outstanding shares
BHP buy - good outcome where they basically says to BHP, lend us the money so we can buy your asset, what more can one ask in terms of the way the deal is structured. If anything they can do better, is negotiate the deal down.
If you take a step back, other then current weakness of Coal price, the deal alone is greater then market cap of WHC, let alone that their existing thermal coal business. I think WHC has heaps more upside from where we are now. The rare earth assets is a bonus!
