Do not put all your eggs in one basket.
Having said that, do not buy shares in so many companies that you cannot keep track of them all.
Do not buy your entire stake in any company at once. Divide it up unless that one shot is all you can afford.
Cut losses quickly, let winners run.
Do not listen to stock tips. Do your own research.
What this means in practice is you can read stuff on stock forums but you must still do your own due diligence.
If something is going up or down parabolically, it’s probably time to sell or buy some shares.
