    I don't usually join in discussions like this, but I have to say being an older Australian I saw life before Whitlam was elected, and life after. And when he was dismissed I was so absolutely joyful. My Father as a Labour man was angry, it happened, but really and totally relieved.
    Whitlam was responsible for starting the decline of our manufacturing industries. We have nothing now but a big hole in the ground.
