Bigfish.... how are you mate?

I have never bought options, I am really keen to learn more about them.

Say a friend thinks he may have missed the boat with the shares spiking in the last week..... Options could be a good alternative as no matter what , until it goes over the target we all pay 7.5c per option right?

Don't have to pay until they either expire or when you have the right to exercise, correct?

So what do WHL get out of having options??, When the future looks so good and they go well over the exercise price and say you get to change your 1000000 @ 7.5c to 50c, kind of feels like WHL will be giving a lot of money away??

Also can I sell them before the expire date? Before I have paid for them and before they have reached exercise price.

Sorry for all the questions, they must seem really silly to a well educated trader like yourself.
