Stucam,
We are talking about WHNO with 5 more months to expiry and still a long way to be in the money. (7.5c ex price)
Using your example, in 1976, IF Apple shares only had 5 months shelf life, wouldn't you think the bloke did the right thing? I'd think so.
You guys are gambling that the heads will hit at least 8.5c in 5 months (just to break even) with absolutely no basis. I can take the same money to the casino and may have the same or better outcome.
From all the info publicly available and the possible value of this farm in, if any, there is not likely that WHN can hit a MC of $135m in 5 months. To me it's almost no chance of that happening. Not in 5 months.
For WHN to hit 3-4c in 4-5 months, the oil has to gush out from the ocean floor by itself, giving WHN an MC of $400m by July. Can you believe anyone that tell you WHN will worth $400m in 4-5months? You'll be the judge.
Wouldn't you think that if WHN will hit 8.5c by Jul, WHN will be 50% up, WHNO will only be break even. Why take the risk then? In this case, Sell WHNO and buy WHN would be a better bet since there is no time pressure.
