From my personal experience it is apparent that the emergency nurses do become somewhat desensitised and used to over anxious whingers who in many cases present at their station.

Based on my experiences I have the greatest respect for nurses once I have been admitted.

This tragedy should never have occured. There are many other examples spoken of on radio recently where the pressure of numbers presenting at certain times causes serious delays in treatment, some with near death experiences.

It's a difficult situation for nurses but the system needs serious attention.

We are very fortunate overall to have one of the best medical systems in the World, however, such tragedies should never occur. Priority patients need to be correctly and fully identified on first contact. I hope this tragedy will ensure that emergecy reception staff are given the required support, leadership and education to allow correct assessments in the first instance so that we will never see such heart rending mistakes in the future !

100% correct imo. The health minister should fall on his sword. Happened under his watch, if it was the health minister colon Bs cabinet from years gone by the magowanstan team would want his head on a plate & paraded down Hay street for the next month. Could learn something from the management trio from Rio's little mishap. Then again Ive seen many who made monumental FUps in the mining industry become CEOs, COO's, CFO's & managers. Maybe the average punter are just to desensitized to the corruption, bullshit & lies that are so called ELECTED representatives churn out every day from all corners of political spectrum.
