It’s fair to suggest that shareholders and directors alike are disappointed with the VC outcome. Like it or not, in business not all decisions turn out to be winners – best to learn from it, suck it up and move on. Having said that this deal with a club of currently unknown Canadian cannabis entrepreneurs should at least see some funds hit our bank in the next week or so, and give us the opportunity to benefit from their depth of expertise, experience and Canadian TSX listing. I see this as a very smart alternative to MXC attempting a dual listing in Canada that would have had us leaping through flaming regulatory hoops and meeting massive compliance issues – all with a considerable initial and ongoing price tag.

The other aspect also is that this group has knowledge and experience in the North American market that our current team don’t have. I’d much rather be hanging on the coat tails of Cannaglobal in a bid to maximize return from the North American market, and beyond.

If nothing else it allows us to focus on the pharma side, develop Malta and “to focus on its goal to become one of the leading bio-pharma operators in the European medicinal cannabis industry.” Europe is waiting, especially in Germany where the market is ripe and ready for the taking.

The Canadian MC market is all about mergers, takeovers and building a solid and diversified cannabis focused base for the future. Companies with solid funding and expertise are currently on a buying and merger binge to maximize their future returns via a range of cannabis based product lines and services.

The smart cannabis money in Canada is very well connected and investing wisely for future exponential growth.

Is Cannaglobalco.com a spinoff from Bruce Linton’s mega cannabis company, Canopy Growth Corp. (formerly Tweed)? The same Canopy Growth that recently acquired Hiku Brands Co. Ltd., the owner of the Tokyo Smoke chain of coffee shops that sells cannabis accessories and clothing. Possibly!

Other well connected big hitters in the Canadian cannabis scene include father and son team Lorne & Alan Gertner. Lorne is a mega mover and shaker in a range of diverse industries focusing on brand building. His company website alludes to his style and depth of expertise. “We invest our own capital and that of third parties, and form partnerships with proven creative entrepreneurs and corporate leaders who have extensive expertise in their respective fields”
“Mr. Gertner is also the Chairman and co-founder of, and major investor in, Tokyo Smoke, an award-winning lifestyle cannabis brand and member of the Hiku brand family. He is also the current Chairman of Midori Capital, an investment, merchant bank in the cannabis sector with investments in over a dozen cannabis companies amongst others.”

Here we have a possible vehicle being Tokyo Smoke, incorporating the Derma range into it product line, coupled with the merchant bank synergies with (Brett Mitchell) Chieftain Securities............ just a thought!

This is the caliber of investor that I would be seeking if I wanted to maximize my expertise and proven high quality cannabis based product. The presence and style of an association with any of the above or other well connected group, is indeed a very exciting prospect.

Whether we are co-joined by Linton, Gertner or others, we are in the right place at the right time to maximize our progress over the last few years. Canada is where the Govt acceptance and support is. Combine that with a deep pocketed and enthusiastic investor base, I reckon the future for us looks pretty good!
