I find it amazing how all the newspapers and online news...

I find it amazing how all the newspapers and online news services are only concerned with what the investors are about to lose. A typical example was the West Australian today asking a typical unimportant question “who was going to control the weeds and pests and manage the fire risks and pay the insurance”. I say who really cares.
Well I haven’t seen any news articles about the poor contractors and their employees. These are the people that could lose their business, their car & their homes. While the investor might lose a few hundred thousand dollars, he/she is still sitting in their lounge by the fire and the only issue they have is feeling a little sorry for themselves. The contractors, who may have employed 20 or 30 people, loses his business and nobody seems to care. The employees, many who have home loans, are going to find themselves without a job along with many other people in the same industry and possibly looking down the barrel of losing their home as well.
So who is the real loser amongst this timber industry collapse? It is not the investor, who everybody seems to be worried about, well at least that is what is being reported. The real losers are those average workers trying to earn a dollar.
