who are we?

Not only is America dictating to us what to do with our trade, our laws and our military, England is telling us what to do with our constitution. I can see a whole lot of sickeningly smiling mugs at the thought that Charles will be our King and Camila our Queen!
The identity of a nation grows out of a self assurance and sovereignty. Something which we seem to have lost a long time ago, probably since Keating. All we seem to be doing these days is asking "how many times?" every time some power tells us to jump.
Iran will be attacked by the coalition of thugs, this time, unabashedly including Israel.
The "request" to help out Japan did not come out of Japan but out of the Whitehouse.
(One is reminded of Menzies' trick with the so called "invitation" to join the Viet Nam war; another American thuggish blunder!)
Iraq won't be a simple Viet Nam all over again but a continuous, Korean war where, is it 35,000 American troops (?) still stomping all over that country?
Australia will be dragged into this ever-expanding mire for a very long time, not so as to "help" the Iraqi people gain democracy but to help the Whitehouse in its last days of imperial arrogance.
