Gartner (and IDC) have long done market size and market share analysis.
Gartner estimated Oracle had 41.5% market share of 2015 DBMS market (of $34.9B). The big mover is Amazon with AWS growing at 33% and capturing $833M of revenue (2.4%).
We are not trying to measure the market of our customers and the value fraction we provide to it... if that's the case then its squillions.
