Harvey Norman (HVN) announced today an increase of 10.5% in sales for the year ended 30 June, 2002. Total sales came in at $2.771 billion, compared to $2.507 billion in the previous corresponding period.
The sales came from the franchised Harvey Norman stores, commercial divisions and other sales outlets in both Australia and New Zealand but excluding Singapore.
“Like for like sales for the year ended 30 June 2002, when compared to the year ended 30 June, have increased by 7.4%,” the company said.
Harvey Norman said sales since the end of the financial year continued to be strong.
“Sales in all product categories increased during the year, most notably in digital cameras, DVD software, notebook computers, pocket PCs, plasma television sets, DVD players and lifestyle systems and leather lounge products," Harvey Norman said.
“During the financial year 12 stores were opened in Australia and New Zealand.”
At 1127 AEST Harvey Norman shares were 11c higher, or 4% to $2.85
