I enjoy talking to strangers wherever I might be. You can, at times, become engaged in some very interesting discussions. But you do need to exercise caution when abroad, although for me, it has, on a number of occasions been very beneficial eg being directed towards very good and reasonably priced accommodation in Paris, and a stranger jumping into my vehicle and giving me directions in Marseille (well, maybe, that wasn't very wise).
