By then all your base-load stations are broke. That's ridiculous. To keep "emergency power" [which seems to be how you view base-load] available under these circumstances you would need to guarantee a market that will keep them in the game, ie SUBSIDIZE!
Pythonesque isn't it? You subsidize wind/solar and then subsidize the "dirty" back-up industry because the first can't deliver. How much of this will industry cop before they shut up shop? Once you've closed down industry demand is easier to meet and during a recession it is easier still.
Bring on the recession so wind/solar can deliver half it's promise. Please don't stand for election!!!!!!
